[ We find Seylin and Pat standing on a small ledge overlooking the edge of Menzobarranzan, the drow city holding the main portion of the Titan's Pick. They are waiting for 'the signal' to start their operation. ] [ They are fairly sure that they won't miss 'the signal', unless buildings in Drow cities explode during normal days. ] [ SideSession Start! ] * Patrick whispers. "You know what to do, right? We get the pick, and get out. I've got some of it, so I can facilitate a quick escape." * Seylin nods. * Seylin whispers. "You ready?" * Patrick nods and grins. * Seylin whispers. "Let's go, then!" [ There's a loud explosion at the other end of the city, and a bit of a tall building crumbles to the street below. ] (Oh. For some reason I interpreted your initial description as the explosion already having happened.) There's the signal! * Patrick nods and starts his descent down, keeping careful to stay close to the wall as he starts his descent. "Quietly, don't want to draw attention." * Seylin nods and descends as quietly as she can. [ Quit turns out not to be a problem. And as sirens start up across the city, it becomes likely that even Seylin's white wings won't attack much attention. ] (*smacks the attention with her wings*) ( Er, attract. ^^; ) Robin> [ Seylin and Patrick touch down in a dead-end alley with a rotting drow corpse tucked into one corner. Welcome to Menzobarranzan! ] [ The alley leads inward towards the city for four hundered feet, intersecting small streets in several places before ending in front of a tall tower. ] * Seylin tucks her wings back in and pulls the hood of her cloak up. "Lovely decor," she whispers. * Patrick 's wings vanish as he vanishes from sight. "I know, isn't it just?" [ The stonework of the city is uniformly of stone painted in hues of black and purple, with here and there a banner or flag. It's very dark, but Pat's alright with that, and Seylin isn't bothered by it at all. ] (Which way is the temple?) ( Inward. ) ( The temple is in the center of the city. ) * Patrick nods and starts torwards the center, but slowly, knowing there's going to be another distraction soon. * Seylin walks alongside Patrick, checking for traps as they go along. She keeps a slow pace, content to let the others do the distracting. (Traps in a city?) (You never know.) (She's basically keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.) (Oh, that's cool.) ( Traps are likely to only be indoors. ^_~ ) [ Patrick and Seylin manage to get along without being noticed by anyone, for now. Now that the sirens have started, the drow are all scrambling about, possibly looking for somewhere to hide. ] [ Explosions of red fireworks pop and crackle mightily a few blocks away. The sirens stop, and then start up again, louder and with a different tone. ] * Seylin wonders exactly what that was, but continues to take advantage of the distraction. * Patrick grins and picks up the pace. [ Pause; we may pick up next week. :3 ] [ We find Patrick and Seylin sneaking around in Menzobarranzan, and doing it very sneakily, at that. What sneaky sneaks these sneaks are, to sneak so sneakily. ] [ So sneakily have they sneaked, in fact, that only one person has noticed them sneaking. However, this one person is an even sneakier sneak than they, and so they have yet to notice his sneakily sneaking after the sneaky sneaks. ] [ And so the sneakily sneaking sneakity sneaker sneak sneaks... uh... ] [ ...right. ] (You're having too much fun with this.) [ Right now, Pat and Sey are creeping down a narrow, blood-stained alleyway between towers. The sirens still wail, and all seems to be going smoothly. ] * Patrick keeps sneaking along, because he is sneaky! * Seylin looks up, down, and all around every so often to make sure they aren't being persued. [ They're being pursued, but they don't know it! ] * Seylin whispers. "I hope things are going well." * Patrick whispers back. "Sounds like it." How much further do you think we have to go? [ A drow in nonreflective black armor comes out of nowhere and stabs Patrick in the side! ] [ Patrick, go! ] * Patrick wheels around, drawing his bow in one smooth motion and unloading a volley of arrows at the drow! You're gonna regret doing that. [ The drow dodges two of the arrows Patrick lets fly, but three hit him and continue on past him, leaving nicks in the wall. ] [ The drow responds by muttering under his breath and attacking Patrick again; as he does so, his odd weapon begins to radiate red and black energy. ] * NinjaDebugger is now known as SleepDebugger [ Patrick ducks out of the way of the first stab, but takes the second in the same side as the initial attack. ] [ Seylin, go! For great justice! ] * Seylin hisses, because she can't yell. Sneakiness, after all. "Oh, no, you do *not*!" There's a glow around her, concentrated particularly around the area where her halberd would be. She charges the drow, draws her arms back, and thrusts at it with the light, as much force behind the blow as she can muster. [ Seylin's halberd strikes through the drow, entering under one arm and exiting under the other. The drow blinks, spasms for a few seconds, and goes limp. ] * Seylin withdraws it, shakes it briefly, sheathes it, and immediately runs over to Patrick. * Patrick winces, gripping his wounds. "Man, that guy packed a punch. You have any healing Sey?" ^^; * Seylin half-smiles. "Of course I do. It's my nature, after all." * Seylin puts a hand on his arm and whispers a quick prayer. * Patrick pulls out a wand and works its magic on himself too, muttering a couple prayers. * Patrick doesn't look too much better, but not much he can do about it. "Man, stupid assassins." This is the best I can do for now, though. You all right to keep going? Yeah, we gotta keep going. Okay. * Patrick mutters in elvish and he turns invisible again. * Seylin takes another look around to make sure there aren't any more. [ Seylin sees no more drow. ] [ And so Seylin and Patrick sneakily snuck further into the city! Session end! ] [ We find Our Cute Couple sneaking through the drow city! There's still an explosion every now and then, so their friends must be doing alright. ] [ Gradually, the alleys are becoming wider and better-decorated; they must be getting into the ritzy end of the city. ] [ Soon enough, they come upon the temple! It's big, a Lolthy, and it's got a bunch of drow fighters in armor standing around muttering under their breath; they must be guarding the place. ] [ You'd guess there's about twenty of them. You'd also guess they'd rather be killing people than guaring The Temple of the Queen Spider-For-A-Butt. ] [ Session Start! ] * Seylin looks at the guards. "Think we can get past them, or is a distraction in order?" Hmm... * Patrick grins. I think I figured out the perfect way to dispose of that explosive liquid we found earlier. See, you can't distill it, but... When exposed to air, it's a simple fireball effect. Only.. really. Really. REALLY big. That big? * Patrick nods. "Probably would take out the front half of the temple." Mmm, maybe later though. That'd draw too much attention here. Eeeeee... yeah. That would draw a *lot* of attention. Maybe if we need help getting out. Dammit, I need to get those people away... Oh, I know. Have a bow? Yep. * Patrick hands Seylin some arrows, tipped with alchemical heads. "I'm thinking we fire all of these in a different location, and we can get in easily... Assuming all the guards check it out." You think they'll all go for it? We might be able to take the one or two that doesn't? Will the others stay distracted long enough, though? Dammit, now I wish I took that course in lockpicking. Oh, I can handle that. What do you need done? Think there's a way in through the sewers? Or some other entrance? I don't want to try and get past twenty guards at the front. Hmmm. * Seylin looks around for a sewer entrance, or something similar. [ Seylin finds none this close to the temple. ] We may have to backtrack a little to find an entrance. What do you think we should do then? Well, finding an alternate route in might help us on the way out. * Patrick nods. "Let's backtrack then, search for an alternate way in." Okay. * Patrick goes invisible and looks for an alternate location to get in. * Seylin does the same. [ About 100 feet back, Our Couple spots a slavehole cover. ] How's that look? As good as any of the other things we found. Let's move. Let's move it and get downthere. * Seylin nods and gets to work. [ The covering has a single handle in the center; it looks quite heavy. ] * Patrick tries to help Seylin move it. [ Seylin lifts the slavehole cover off with little real effort. I mean, it's only like 100 pounds of pig iron. ] * Patrick heads in! Sneaky sneaky. * Seylin sneaks on down. [ The inside of the sewers are, with the exception of the waste runnel itself, spotlessly clean. There's a large number of goblins working hard even now to keep it so, and to make sure that the waste flows smoothy. (more) ] [ The goblins noticed the two of you enter, look to each other, shrug, and get back to work. ] * Patrick tries to get the attention of one of the goblins, and, first in common, then in dark speech if that doesn't work, to ask how to get into the temple from down here. [ The goblins blink, then all point towards the way you came. ] So the thing doesn't run under the temple. Great. Thanks guys. * Patrick throws them a few gold pieces for their trouble. * Patrick heads up. Come on down Sey. * Seylin emerges from the shadows, where she was being all good 'n sneaky-like. * Patrick bows to the goblins and throws them a few gold pieces for their trouble like a nice adventurer. "Let's get going, it's that way." He points in the direction the goblins pointed just before he vanishes and heads that direction. [ And so Our Cute Couple went to infiltrate the Temple of Lolth! SNEAKITY SNEAK SNEAK SNEAK! ] [ Session End! ] [ We find Seylin and Pat in the sewers beneath Menzobarranzan! There's a bunch of goblins down there, too, but they're mostly unarmed and working on keeping the sewers clog-free and relatively clean - apparently, the Drow never developed the Elven secret of enchanting sewers to smell like spring flowers. ] [ Up ahead is a large chamber that the goblins indicated was right underneath the temple of Lolth, where Our Heros, Solid Seraph and Sniper Grin, hope to find and liberate the bulk of the Titan's Pick. ] [ Session Start! ] (I demand a cardboard box.) (/me gives Seylin a cardboard box.) (Can I get a scope?) (Awesome. *hides underneath the box and stealths her way through the sewers*) (*directs a laser for a nice orbital strike) [ One of the goblins starts making a hideous ululating noise, and soon some of the others join in. From your monstrology classes at the School, you know that this is what passes for song amongst goblins. ] * Seylin whispers. "They must be really bored. Then again, I can't blame them. This will make good noise cover, though." * Patrick smirks and nods. * Patrick whispers. "Let's continue, shall we?" Yes! Wish they could figure out how to make the sewers smell better at least. Man this place reeks. [ Indeed it does. ] Then let's get this over with. * Patrick nods and looks for a nice place that's out-of-the-way to get out of the sewers and, well, into the place because they're sneaky like that. [ As Our Heroes move up ahead, they find the large chamber to be somewhat elevated. A great deal of filth flows down from the temple through a quartet of massive, stylized pipes; apparently, the clergy of Lolth *is* full of shit. ] * Patrick whistles. "And I thought Kenji was full of shit." I don't think I ever needed to see the literal execution of that term. [ Off to one side of the chamber lies an unbelieveably vast otyugh. As you approach, it mutters something and waves one of its tentacles at you in an apparent attempt to be threatening. ] * Seylin waves back. * Patrick waves slightly at the Otyugh. "So how to get in from here, hmmm..." [ The otyugh belches thunderously, which takes about forty seconds, and then scratches the area over it's mouth with the spiked part of one of it's tentacles. The stench is unbearable. ] [ Up above, Seylin notices the underside of a hatch that probably leads to the temple. There's a hinge to one side that indicates a ladder is sometimes present, but no ladder is in evidence now. ] * Seylin wrinkles her nose. "Eww." Then she looks up. "Aha. That looks like our way in." She points to the hatch. * Patrick waves his hand in front of his nose, trying to get some fresher air to it. Well, not much you can do if there's little fresh air regardless. He nods to Seylin as he looks up. "Think you can move it? I hope they don't have a welcoming comittie for us on the inside." * Seylin nods and flies up to the hatch. She waits before opening it to try and hear if anything's on the other side. [ Seylin hears nothing but a distant tapping. ] * Seylin decides that this is probably okay. If it's footsteps, they're far enough away for now, possibly even on another floor. She slowly and carefully attempts to push the hatch open a crack, peering through just to make sure she heard correctly. [ Seylin sees a small room made of the Drow's typical purple-and-black marble, and with a pair of large, stone feet standing to one side. The feet do not move as the hatch opens a crack with a tiny squeek. ] * Seylin opens it further and keeps peering out. [ The feet turn out to belong to a large stone replica of some sort of cross between a drow and a four-armed demon. It doesn't move, however. ] * Seylin is quite happy it's not moving. She pushes the hatch open the rest of the way and takes a quick look around before motioning Patrick to come up if it's safe. * Patrick nods and walks/flies up to the hatch after Sey is through. [ The room is about twelve feet on a side, and aside from the statue and a metal door on the opposite side of the room from the statue, is utterly featureless. ] * Seylin looks around the room and blinks. "Weird. It's totally empty." [ The statue doesn't respond to that, either. ] Except for that, of course. * Seylin points at the statue. Still, it's odd. [ The statue and door remain exactly where they are. ] * Seylin walks over to the door. Shall I open it? Yeah, hmmm. * Patrick nods and draws his bow, ready to shoot anyone hiding behind the door. * Seylin nods and slowly opens the door, making sure to stay out of Patrick's line of fire. [ Opening the door reveals... an empty hallway! It attacks! Wait, no. It just sits there being an empty hallway. However, the statue behind you speaks up as the door opens, hissing in Undercommon; "< Is there trouble with the workings of the sewage?>" ] * Seylin stops, turns around, and stares, because she's not entirely sure how to answer the statue. [ The statue has changed position, and is now bowing, it's two shorter arms knuckles-down on the floor, it's longer arms outspread in what may be a gesture of humility. ] (steals your excess apostrophes ^_~) * Patrick clears his throat. "" [ "" And the statue attacks! ] [ The golem lashes out at Patrick with one if it's longer arms, but Patrick dodges with great nimbleness. ] [ Seylin, go! ] * Seylin draws her invisi-halberd and wheels to face the statue, slashing at it. [ Seylin digs a little notch into the golem! Patrick, go! ] * Seylin swings around again and does another slash, nicking it even further. [ Seylin cuts two more impressive grooves into the golem after the first attack. ] [ Patrick, go! ] * Patrick pulls out his bow and fires a nice happy volley at the golem right past Seylin, taking a step behind her as he does so. [ Patrick unloads several arrows into the cracks Seylin made, where they pop and crackle with energy; the golem falls appart, unceremoniously, and, surprisingly, quietly. ] Well that was... easy. * Seylin blinks and looks around. "Is that it?" That can't be it. For this room. Do you see the pick here? Nope. Then I don't think that's it. Well, I figured there was more outside. I guess this was enough of a guardian for the sewer system... until it met us. * Patrick nods and grins. [ And so they snuck further on! Session End! ] [ We find Pat and Sey in the basement of the temple of Lololololth. They're sneaking in to steal an artifact weapon that could totally screw over their world, and they're here all alone! ] (Eeee, scary.) [ Alone! In the dark! ] (... We know where this'll end.) (In nookie?) (Of course. :3) ( No, no. It'll end in creepy murder. ) [ But they're here on a mission. So no nookie! ] (I prefer the nookie idea.) (NO SEX DURING STATIC.) [ Right now, the hallway ahead leads straight ahead for thirty feet before turning to the right. ] (I like the nookie idea too. ;;) [ There is still the very faint sound of patrolling footsteps somewhere up above. Session Start! ] * Seylin tilts her head to listen to the sound from above. * Patrick mmms and whispers. "Patrol above. We need to go higher still, though." Yeah. Hear anything up ahead? * Patrick shakes his head. Okay, let's keep going. * Seylin sneaksneaksneaks onward. * Seylin keeps very, very alert. * Patrick sneaksneaks ahead as well, making sure to stay alert! [ Pat and Sey reach the bend in the hallway! Up ahead, they see stairs! In the right wall is a door! ] Door or stairs? * Patrick visibly goes enie-meanie-miney-moe... "Door." Okay. * Seylin checks the door for traps! [ Seylin finds no traps - on this side of the door. There are devices that, after a bit of puzzling, she realizes control traps and locks on the *other* side of the door. ] Well, the good news is that it's not trapped on *this* side... Hope that means there's no bad news. Well, these things here control traps and locks on the other side. Interesting to know. Any idea what those traps do? Let me get a closer look. * Seylin examines the devices more carefully. It looks like they're made to stop someone from getting out of whatever room is on the other side. The traps will cause lots of pain, but no permanent damage. So it's a torture room. Lovely. Think it's even worth looking in there? [ The drow prever the more modern term 'wrack-center'. ] I wouldn't walk in, if that's what you're asking. Up the stairs, then? * Patrick nods. Well, wait. We should take a look inside if anybody is in there. Maybe could give us some inside info. Were those controls set to anything when you looked at'em first? No. Oh. Let's get goin' then. * Patrick heads up the stairs stealthily! [ Fortunately, it's easy to be stealthy on the hard stone stairs. But you hear the patrolling footsteps drawing closer! ] * Patrick goes invisible as the footsteps draw closer. [ The footsteps reach a point near the stairs, and stop. There is the sound of a martial turn, before the footsteps begin receeding into the distance. ] * Seylin whispers. "Just one patroller?" * Patrick shhs very softly for Sey to be quiet. Drawing his bow while staying invisible, he times a walk up the stairs and facing the left so that the foot steps are going away from the stairs while he does so. ( Pat needs a fresh hide and move silently check. ) [ Gradually, the footsteps of the armored patroller recede into the distance. ] * Patrick quietly fires several arrows simultaneously point-blank at the poor drow's form, dropping his invisibility when the attack is made. [ Pat pegs the lurking drow to the wall, through his lungs, heart, and neck. It's surprisingly quiet, all considered. ] * Patrick quietly picks the corpse up and walks down the stairs, satisfied with himself. * Seylin looks at it. "That was certainly... efficient," she whispers. * Patrick grins and whispers. "He's got a buddy who's going to come back. I think we should surprise'em." * Seylin nods. * Patrick whispers. "He's got some loud foot-steps, when he gets close enough I'm going to ambush him from behind." * Patrick vanishes and scouts ahead waiting to hear the foot-steps, walking quietly on the ceiling and the walls. [ The other drow is coming back this way, now. ] * Patrick waits on the ceiling for the drow to walk underneath him, then quietly follows until just before he'd notice something is wrong. * Seylin stays hidden. [ The drow passes underneath Patrick, and after Patrick begins to follow him, he turns, with amazing swiftness, jumping, drawing and swinging his longsword in one swift motion! ] ( Avenge your love, Solid Seraph! ) * Patrick takes a small jab in the shoulder, flipping down to the ground with his bow drawn in a threatening position at the drow who offended him. Although youcan't see this. 'cuz invis, and stuff. * Seylin emerges from her hiding place and slashes at the drow with her invisi- halbered, followed by a thrust. [ The drow curses in undercommon as Seylin delivers two good wounds to him! Pat, go! ] * Patrick grins as he fires a series of arrows at the drow. [ Patrick casts Transmute Drow to Pincushion, with the final shot pinning the drow's head to the wall behind him - which is odd, since the wall was ten feet behind him before that. ] * Seylin eyes the carnage. "He made you angry, huh?" * Patrick takes a deep breath. "Yes. I think I need some medical attention though." * Seylin pulls out her wand of Cure Light Wounds. "How many do you want?" * Patrick takes out his happy stick too. "These things are so unreliable... I'll tell you went to stop?" * Patrick starts casting happy-stick charges on himself. * Patrick then does the first thing that ANY reasonable adventurer does. Loot the corpses and hide them. * Seylin looks at the two doors, then down the hallway, then back at Patrick. "Which way now?" * Patrick handles the piece of the artifact, trying to find where the larger component is, before putting it back away again. Two floors up, in that direction. * Patrick points up the center of the hallway. * Patrick whispers, if you didn't know already. "Shall we check these rooms out, though?" * Seylin nods and heads to the left door to check it for traps. [ Seylin finds no traps! ] No traps. * Seylin takes a listen. * Patrick draws his bow, loading multiple arrows on it. "Care to open the door?" * Seylin holds up a finger, indicating that he should wait a moment. * Patrick nods. * Seylin whispers. "One person breathing... and he doesn't sound too good." * Patrick whispers back. "Okay, either it's an unsettled drow from that little display we just had, or a prisoner. My money's on the first, but don't shoot right away, got it." * Seylin nods and slowly opens the door. [ Inside is a mostly empty bunk room! It smells of soldiers - which is bad. There's one drow sleeping in one of the bunks- the parts of him not under the sheets are covered in bandages which are partially soaked through in spots. His breathing is labored. ] * Seylin mimes closing the door and leaving. * Patrick does a quick look around the room for anything of value. Assuming there isn't, he nods to Seylin. * Seylin waits until Patrick leaves and closes the door behind them. She then goes over to the other door and takes a listen. Nothing. * Patrick whispers as he draws his bow again. "Open up?" * Seylin nods and carefully opens this door. [ Inside is another room full of beds! But these are larger, more luxuriant, better attired, and the room smells like cloying perfume. ] * Seylin wrinkles her nose. * Seylin whispers. "Well, at least it's better than the sewer." * Patrick snickers and nods. He quickly inspects the room for phat lewt, then when is done gets out. [ Patric finds lots of expensive silk garments and jeweled baubles, but no adventuring gear. ] (Boo, How expensive do they look, about?) * Patrick yoinks the frippery. Some bards are gonna love this stuff. * Patrick gets out and nods to Seylin. "Let's keep moving." * Seylin stifles a giggle and heads out. * Patrick grins to Seylin. * Seylin heads... down the hallway! Carefully, of course, always checking for traps and listening for opposition. * Patrick heads down too! Stealthy-like. [ Seylin and Pat reach the next set of doors! ] * Seylin sighs. "More doors." * Patrick shrugs. "Might as well check." * Seylin listens at the left door. Nothing. * Seylin opens it. [ Seylin finds a mess hall. It's empty, and has a sign posted in front of the door: "" ] * Patrick snerks. * Seylin grins and closes the door, then goes over to the other one and listens again. [ Seylin hears a roaring cacophony consisting of the roars of demons and the wails of the dead. Except not really. ] [ In fact, she hears nothing! ] Nothing again. * Seylin carefully opens the door. [ Seylin finds a fairly small room lined with weapon racks. ] * Patrick whispers. "So, want to raid the armory?" Sure! [ The racks contain mostly fine adamantine weapons and exceptionally crafted bows. ] * Patrick idly walks along and picks up some of the adamantine weapons that look higher quality than the others, opting for 2-handers over 1-handers, as well as a few of the composite mighty bows, testing their pull if need be. Just give me whatever you think is good but you can't carry. * Patrick gives Seylin some other stuff too! then nods. Okay, let's get going. * Seylin stuffs it in her pack. Yay for handy haversacks! * Seylin nods and shuts the door behind her after Patrick leaves, then continues down the hall, looking for traps and listening for enemies. * Patrick keeps going too. [ Patrick and Seylin reach the next staircase! This one is much wider, and leads up yet again. * Patrick nods and goes invisible while he starts going up the stairs. * Seylin stealths up and heads upstairs as well. * NotSeg is now known as Seg * Seylin stops. "Trap." * Patrick stops too. * Seylin bends down, pulls out some of her tools, and gets to work. After about a minute she's succeeded in disabling the tripwires. She looks up at Patrick with a tiny screwdriver clenched between her teeth and gives him a thumbs-up. * Patrick nods and peeks ahead, trying to spot anything moving while she's doing that... Well, you think, anyways. He could just be looking at Sey. * Patrick draws his bow VEEEERY quietly, motioning at the stairs and impersonating a drow as best he can without actually being evil. * Seylin carefully puts her tools away and stands up, then nods at Patrick's warning and draws her invisi-halberd. * Patrick goes invisible and stealthy sneaks ahead, trying to asses the moving enemies. [ Patrick sees a crowd of enemies in the main chapel of the temple at the top of the stairs; there are nineteen drow guards, some in chain, some in leather. There are nine drow clericettes in full plate with clerical raiments on top, six ritually scarred minotaurs in adamantine armor and carrying huge adamantine axes, and an iron golem. ] * Patrick makes his way back to Sey, obviously unspotted He whispers. "I think it's time we make our presence known. We can't take those guys on, and sneaking by isn't an option. So when the boom goes off, we have to move fast." Wait, how many of them are there? And did you see the pick? * Patrick nods. Um, at least 10. And a golem. * Patrick pulls out the orb of controlling earth elementals and the burning blood bottle of 'poison', soon to be known as 'That fuggin' huge fireball'. "Yeah, the pick was there too. The golem can sense us, I think, so we need a distraction. I'm going to pull up an earth elemental, then chuck this bottle." Where was it, exactly? I'm thinking it's going to be a bit hard to see once you let that go. Golem was between us and the pick. Drow were on the other side of the pick. I'm going to pull the elemental on the other side, to distract the drow and possibly draw attention to the golem. Menwhile, I'll chuck this and make a huge fireball. You might need to distract the golem if it manages to live while we get the pick, though. Distract the golem. Sounds fun. Unless you want to go and assemble the pick? ~_^ Either way is fine with me. If we're lucky, we won't even have to worry about distracting the golem. * Patrick nodnods. Ready? As ready as I'm going to be. * Patrick nods and invises again. When he gets close enough, he conjurs an earth elemental to distract the Drow using the Orb of Summoning/controlling earth elementals. * Seylin sneaks her way up behind him and peers into the room, trying to get a quick look at things before all hell breaks loose. * Patrick grins as he throws the bomb, not aiming for anyone in particular, just trying to get it out far enough so it doesn't blow the shit out of Sey or himself, and DOES hit the drow and the golem. [ Patrick throws the bomb helluva far, and it lands off to the side of the mass of adversaries, exploding so spectacularly that the very earth seems to quake in sympathy with the force unleashed! ] * Patrick is visible, assuming that counts as an attack. * Patrick uses his wings to speed for the pick, calling the earth elemental to distract and block anyone who gets in their way. * Seylin zooms in after Patrick! [ The golem stands there, apparently not destroyed, but not quite functional, either - the iron it's made of is glowing red and creaking ominously as foul-smelling fluids of some sort evaporate from its joints. ] [ As such, Patrick has no trouble getting his hands on the pick - and instantly regretting it, since the pick seems to be entirely metal. ] * Patrick winces as he picks it up. "Ah, that's HOT!" He tries to assemble it as quick as he can, though, so they can use it to get out of here. "Have anything that can cool this?" Believe it or not, I do. * Seylin pulls a scroll out of her pack. * Seylin quickly opens it and starts reading the spell. She's smiling very widely as she does so, because it's fun to use items you've had sitting in your inventory for the past year or so. ^_~ [ The Pick goes from way the hell too hot to a little too cold very suddenly! ] * Patrick takes a deep breath after assembling the pick, trying really hard to keep hold of it. "Please protect us and take us out of this temple." He hands the medallion of thought projection to Seylin. "Tell Alci that we've got it." She can tell Istvan and company. Okay. * Seylin takes the medal and sends to Alcinoe. ~Alcinoe, we have it!~ [ The bulbous top of the temple peals apart like a groteque stone flower blooming, and the ground benath the two of you begins to rise into the air at a startling pace! ] [ And then the session ends! ] [ Session End! ]
