[ It's another beautiful, sunny day in Brighthome. At the campus of the Bygasse School of Adventure, we find Patrick and Seylin not engaged in anything naughty. Which means it's okay for us to watch them. Minisession start! ] (Yet.) * Patrick was working with Ariake for a while, and now has finally come to the fruits of their labor! Well, more like Ariake's magic and Patrick's money, but you know. Ariake is still doing research, which really shouldn't surprise anyone. But Patrick's walking home from the workshop with something in his hands. He seems to be smiling more than usual, if that's possible. * Seylin was off running some sort of errand. She was flying back to the Flying Couches house, but then she spots Patrick and swoops down behind him. She hovers there for a minute, trying to be as quiet as possible. * Patrick, probably to Seylin's dismay, notices the shadow that our half-celestial makes. He smirks and turns around, saying: "Hey Seylin!" Awww, you saw me! * Seylin giggles. "I haven't seen you all day! Where've you been?" * Patrick chuckles. "Of course! As bright as you are, I don't think you can hide your shadow." ~_^ I've been working with Ariake on something. You want to see? ^_^ * Seylin nods and lands. "What is it?" * Patrick looks around and puts the box on the ground. "Should I spoil it now or do you want to wait until I put it on?" ~_^ It's something you can wear? I'd rather wait and see you with it on, then! Sure thing Sey. ^_^ So, um, when can I see it? How about now? ^_^ Sure! Don't you need to go change, though? Nah, it goes right over what I'm wearing. ~_^ * Seylin blinks. "Oh, really? Well, it sounds interesting. I can't wait to see it! Do you want me to go away somewhere while you put it on, or shall I just close my eyes?" * Patrick kneels down next to the case. "Close your eyes. I'll tell you when it's on." ^_^ All right! * Seylin closes her eyes. * Patrick pops open the case, the locks making audible 'click' sounds. Inside is a fine looking blue cape. Nothing particularly fancy, but it does look nice on him. Taking it out carefully and fastening it around his neck, he mutters a short phrase in elvish. The cape melds with his body, becoming large dark-blue feathered wings. Okay, you can open them now. ~_^ * Seylin opens her eyes. Then she lets out a startled gasp which quickly turns into a delighted laugh. "Wings! You have wings! They're so pretty!" She laughs again and hugs him carefully, although for her, hugging someone else with wings is a new experience. [ Awwww. ^_^ ] * Patrick hugs her back, well experienced with how to hug someone with wings. But that's okay! "Yeah, I got them for you. So I can be wherever you go... Be sure to thank Ariake next time you meet her too." * Seylin blushes. "I will!" * Patrick smiles, a slight blush on his face. "So, if you're not busy, care to show me how to fly?" I'm not busy at all! I guess this means I don't have to carry you around any more when I go flying, huh? Only if you want to. ~_^ * Patrick doesn't say 'I won't object.' * Seylin laughs. "Okay! Well, first thing you do is spread your wings." She unfolds hers. * Patrick looks at his wings, and they unfold as a mental thought. "Hey, that's cool! I haven't tried them on yet, this is the first time you know." ~_^ I was wondering how you had to work them. * Seylin looks him over. "They're really nice." Mental control, it looks like. I don't really have to think about it. I just do it. It's like walking, really. * Patrick flexes the wings. "I hope I don't have to preen them." Really? Maybe it works the same way then! I don't preen. Much. I have things to take care of them, though, so I don't know if you'll need them as well. I think I'd have to do the same then. You'll have to teach me how to clean them. ~_^ That can wait, though! First, we go flying! So I guess the next step is to get used to moving them around a little. * Patrick nods. * Seylin twitches one wing. "You can work on fine control later." She flaps both wings a few times. "So, get them moving!" * Patrick flaps his wings a few times, trying to take off. And doing a remarkable job, although he looks slightly uneasy with the flying. Normally he has someone carrying him when this happens. :P Okay! Ready to take to the skies? And don't worry; if something goes wrong, I'll be right there to catch you! Uh... Sure, let's get started! * Seylin takes off, but hovers a few feet above the ground. * Patrick, with a little effort, manages to start moving quicker and quicker, adjusting to the new freedom of 3 dimensions. * Seylin giggles. "Slow down!" She follows him upwards. * Patrick slows down, letting Sey catch up. * Seylin catches up to Patrick. "How does it feel? Isn't it wonderful?" It's... It's awesome! Man, now I know what Jadel was talking about. * Patrick grins. "This is wonderful. I wonder why you didn't bug me about it before." He winks at Seylin. * Seylin does a loop in mid-air. "Well, I didn't know you could get wings! And I didn't mind taking you when you wanted to try it... but this is a lot better!" It is! Where should we go first? * Patrick looks down and around. He's having a great time, yes he is. Want to go over the forest? You've never seen it from this perspective. Sure! Okay! Bet you can't catch me! * Seylin takes off in that direction. * Patrick takes off after her. "You got a head start!" * Seylin laughs. Then she does another loop, which might help him catch up. A little. * Patrick catches up and edges ahead! But Seylin's still a bit too fast and overtakes him anyways. * Seylin slows down as they reach the forest. * Patrick slows down, but not soon enough and hits Seylin in the back. ^^; Eep! Watc- * Seylin falls for a minute, then rights herself and heads back up. Watch out. ^^; It *does* take a little getting used to. * Patrick falls and almost hits the trees before the wings spread open and stop his fall, brining him back up to Seylin's height. He smiles and blushes. "Apparently." * Seylin starts to make a move to catch him, then stops as he rights himself. She swoops over and gives him a quick kiss. "It's worth it, though." ^_^ * Patrick gives her a kiss back. I mean, he's not a meanie. "Well worth it! Espically if I can spend more time with you." ~_^ * Seylin smiles. "You're so sweet. So, do you want to stay this high up or go down a bit closer to the forest?" Thanks. ^^; I think we should take a closer look. You can't see that much detail up here, you know. Nope! I like staying right above the trees, close enough that I could reach down and touch them if I wanted. * Patrick nods and swoops down. "Come on down then!" * Seylin heads down. She does, actually, reach out and touch the tops of the trees as she flies by. * Patrick reaches out cautiously and touches the trees too, reveling in the freedom. "It's... it's just wonderful. There aren't any other words that describe it." Now you understand why I go airborne every chance I get? ^_~ I might just start doing it too. ~_^ Well, you're welcome to come along any time, but you knew that already. Yeah, but now I can do it without asking you for a lift. Not like that was a bad thing. ~_^ No, it wasn't. But this is better, I think. I don't have to worry about dropping you. Not that I was going to! But it was always at the back of my mind... Bah, you drop me and you'd catch me. I know you would! I know! Just like I'm here for you now, though it looks like you're really getting the hang of things! * Patrick grins. So, is there any place you've always wanted to see from the sky? Mmm, I dunno. I just want to look around. The forest is really nice. I wonder how those on campus would react to another person with wings, though. You'd be surprised how few people ever look up. I know a lot of people look up at you. ~_^ * Seylin blinks. "Really? I guess I should look down more often." Maybe, but it's nice to not care. I mean, why would you? ^^ Curiosity. * Patrick starts flying in a random direction at a steady, slow pace, just looking around. He smiles. "Hey, Sey, how high have you flown?" Oh, pretty high. High enough that I started to get cold. * Patrick looks up. "Really? You'll have to show me sometime." ^_^ * Seylin giggles. "Want to try it now?" * Patrick chuckles. "I think I'd need to first get some warmer clothing. I'm not natrually as tough as you, remember?" ~_^ * Seylin looks slightly embarrassed. "Right. I forget sometimes." * Patrick flies forward and gives Sey a hug. "Hey, it's okay." * Seylin hugs Patrick back (while hovering!) and smiles a little. "Well, you're so good at fighting that I forget, you know?" Yeah, I know. But we'll figure out ways around that, won't we? ^_^ We sure will. So we'll save the altitude records for another day. Yeah. So, what were you doing when you ran into me, Sey? ~_^ Oh, I was just checking the bookstore. Really? What for? Books! ^_~ * Patrick hits his head and grins. "Oh, of course, books! Were you done or on your way? I could go with, I've got no plans today." ^_^ I was done! But I didn't have any plans for after that, so if you wanted to go get something to eat or something like that, I'm up for it! Or we could just keep flying! * Patrick shrugs. "I've got nothing else to take care of! Although I might want to pick up the case for the cloak..." Oh, right, you left it somewhere back there! * Seylin points in the general direction of campus. * Patrick nods and flies in that direction! * Seylin flies alongside him. So, do you remember where you left it? Yeah, I was gettin' close to Flying Couches, so it should be near there. ^_^ * Seylin flies lower so she can get a better look at things. * Patrick follows Seylin's lead. * Seylin spots the case and lands. "Here it is!" * Patrick lands next to Seylin, touching down easily. He thinks for a moment, then glances at Seylin. "Should I put them back or leave them on?" ~_^ I guess it depends on what you want to do next. I think you look really, really good with them! Not that you didn't before, but... you know what I mean, right? * Patrick laughs. "Yeah, I know." He snaps the case closed and starts to Flying Couches to put it away. In the air, of course. "I'll make us some ice cream when we get back, okay?" ^_^ All right! ^_^ * Seylin takes off. "Since you know the way, I'll race you for real this time.
