[ Arright. Here's the sitch. After what happened to Sey and Kenji, they headed back to the town. However, the last occurrence didn't happen in a vaccum. Something - maybe Kenpachi's appearance - has caused something of a stampede of ronin and assorted banditry. They're running in the same direction you are - for the town. GM: Weird thing is, there's a lot of them. A lot a lot. So far, Sey's seen around 40. ] [ Seylin flies along, carrying a mauled Kenji (who isn't quite dead, and is getting better), and observing the incoming hoard of brigands. ] [ She really should do something about these guys before they get to the town. ] (I'm picturing Seylin landing, setting Kenji down, and then doing a Sailor Moon-style powerpose about righting wrongs and triumphing over evil.) ( ... ) ( ...I'll allow it. ) ( But she needs to get the feat from Slayers d20 first. ) (No, I wasn't actually going to do it. I just was amusing myself with the mental image.) [ Session Start! ] * Seylin looks down at the horde of bandits below her. "That's not a good thing." * Kenji is still bleeding, giving silent testimony to the sheer amount of damage done to his body. * Seylin attempts to do a quick calculation to figure out if she can get to the village first and warn them before the horde gets there. [ Seylin can reach the village first; but not by enough of a margin to give her friends time to prepare for battle before the ronin get there. ] * Seylin takes a deep breath and concentrates on Kenji. Her hands start to glow. * Kenji sucks in a long, frantic breath as most of his wounds heal over in an instant. "Sweet ancestors!" Welcome back. Soramaro. Asuza. Where are we? Did I get him? I have them, we're flying back to the village, and... no. * Kenji curses vigorously. We have other problems, though. Down below us are about forty vagabonds, and I don't think I can get back in time to warn everyone. So... I'm contemplating making a stand. Right. Um. How far ahead of them are we? (That's a very good question.) Feh. Nevermind. They're vagabonds. Land us as far ahead of them as you can manage, give me my swords. You're well prepared to slow the vanguard down. You've got it. I'll make the run back to town to get the others. * Seylin zooms ahead of the approaching horde, looking for a good spot. [ Seylin finds an area where the road goes through a clearing about 20 feet in diameter. ] * Seylin lands, gently sets Kenji down, and holds out his swords. * Kenji sheathes his swords quickly. "Don't die before I get back. Or after, for that matter." * Kenji jumps up into the air, clicks his heels together, and takes off down the road at an absurd speed, leaping so strongly that he may as well be flying. [ And then there was one. ] * Seylin draws Kiyomaro and prepares for the onslaught. [ The onslaught comes, not caring weather it's prepared for Seylin. ] [ Seylin sees the enemy coming, and she is their end. Hopefully. ] [ Go, Seylin! ] * Seylin spins Kiyomaro once, braces herself, and thrusts it forward, screaming a battle cry as she does so. An immense burst of flame shoots from it towards the approaching horde. [ A few of the oncoming pack drop immediately, and the rest slow down, and then stop. "" demands one. ] Turn back now. [ "" And as if that were a signal, the thugs attack en masse! ] [ They charge, and Seylin fades, causing them to collide rather comically. ] [ There is much shouting and looking for Seylin. ] I warned you! * Seylin jumps into the air, raises Kiyomaro, and SLAMS the butt into the ground as she lands. An immense circle of brilliant light spreads out from her. [ Seylin incinerates 37 of her opponents; their equipment, unhurt, clatters to the ground as their bodies disappear. ] [ Beyond the radius of the foes she just cleared, Seylin sees many more coming from the same direction. They charge her when the opportunity comes. ] [ They roll in like a wave of banditry, and a few actually make successful attacks against our heroine! ] * Seylin nimbly sidesteps the first bandit, who staggers past her, then dodges the second, who somehow manages to clock himself with his own weapon. The third and fourth, though, actually do slice her. This only causes her to look annoyed. * Seylin sheathes her halberd, grabs the nearest bandit, and for the next few seconds, there's nothing but a cloud of dust streaking through the bandit ranks, with the occasional limp body being tossed out of it. [ More bandits crowd in on Seylin, only to be treated similarly. Our girl is doin' good. ] [ And now, the fight moves to the main channel. ]
