[ We find Our Heroes battling for their lives in Carceri, the place the gods lock up people who don't need to be out and about screwing up the multiverse! ] (But I *like* screwing up the multiverse!) [ Right now they've got a passle of gehreleths harrassing them, and gods above do they smell bad! ] [ Session Start! ] * Seylin wingzooms over to the fat guy, rears back with her halberd, and then just SLAMS it into him with all the force she can muster. There's an intense flash of pure white light when she hits him. [ The corpulent fiend bellows in pain and rage, and is rocked by Seylin's awesome strike. ] Seylin, with me! * Kenji stands up from the ruins of the demon, shedding blood off the coating of gunk that dared hold him prisoner. In his hand, Soramaro wavers for a moment, then straightens, and Yomijo practically jumps from its saya to his left hand. In an instant, he's pushed off and is next to another of the sticky demons, Soramaro extended forward, leaving an opening for Seylin to charge, as well. You've got it! * Seylin turns, spins Kiyomaro, and zooms back at the Faratsu. [ One of the farastus jumps at Tia and clings to her left arm and upper torso, holding her fast! ] Ewww! [ Will bides his time until someone is in peril, and the other farastu is stunned from Kenji and Seylin's attack! ] [ Patrick, go! ] * Patrick edges over to stay behind Tia, and with pinpoint accuracy and uncanny speed fires from Oyobi, past the dragon, and into the giant blob-shaped creature behind her, ripping holes through its very state, four of the arrows mearly striking home, while the other four literally eplode into holy light upon impact, leaving waves of holy energy in their wake as they embed themselves in the creature. [ Tia, go! ] * Tia tears into the gooey tar monster with all four claws, a mixture of anger and disgust contorting her girlish features as she messily rends the slime holding her in place. To her dismay, though, it doesn't let go. [ Suddenly, the stunned farastu (#4) becomes larger, slimier, and almost as fat as the shator! ] [ Will frowns. "Uh, guys? I just remembered something. Lil' Loremissy said that when a gehreleth of high station dies, a lower one is instantly promoted to fill its place, and another is promoted to fill that one." ] So somewhere, we just made this guy's little brother very happy. [ "Yeah. I mean, as happy as gehreleths get." ] [ The new, fat gehreleth gurgles gleefully; some of its slime drips off, and with a whiff of caustic smoke begins eating through the rock below. ] That's... really not good at all. At least it's not sticky anymore. [ However, it smells even worse. ] [ Seylin, Go! ] * Seylin flies straight up, flips Kiyomaro so it's pointing downwards, then descends like an avenging... well, you know. She slices the new- and-not-improved demon as she comes back down, another flash of brilliant light emenating from her weapon, and neatly lands behind it. [ Seylin stuns the demon! ] [ Kenji, go! ] * Patrick responds to Will. "Well isn't that just peachy?" * Kenji recovers from his lunge and spins, Yomiji and Soramaro arcing outward in a blur of motion, sending demon blood spraying in every direction. A moment later, the Kelubar literally falls apart into six not-quite even parts. [ Suddenly, Tia and the Farastu that was grappling her disappear, reappearing 50 feet off the ledge! The farastu begins growing in size and weight, and the two combattants go plumeting into the chasm! ] ...oops. This could end... poorly. Tia! * Tia roars as her slime-encrusted self disappears down the chasm. [ Will frets. "Uh, guys? If she dies here, her soul can't leave and her body becomes the next Farastu. I don't think I'll be able to raise her." ] Well, that's no problem, then. She's not going to die here. * Kenji jumps off the cliff after the pair. Exactly. * Patrick smirks and vanishes. * Seylin descends after Kenji. [ And so Our Heroes go diving off the cliff to heroically attempt to save Tia, or die trying! Will they succeed?
