[Date: January 1, 2016. Time: 0110 hours.] [You're all over a plane heading over the pacific, back to the island of Dr. Moreau, err, the island of Fidelis. So far, all signs look good. No one's shot at you yet. It's dark and peaceful outside.] [Olivia has the plans for the first floor of the base. There is more than that once you get in, but hopefully, there'll be a schematic at the guard station. The north entrance seems a good place to start for that. But whether they have updated security measures since you've last been here is anyone's guess. It wasn't pleasant the first time.] [TJ's being quiet as he flies the plane. Once there, he'll work on camoflauging it and meet up with you later.] [And for those paranoid types, there haven't been any unusual sounds with this plane that you could detect. Yet.] [Start of File.] * Aaron is one of those paranoid types, and has spent the entire flight trying desperately not to ask TJ the status of things every five minutes. So far, he has managed to succeed, and looks mostly calm. Mostly. * Xiang-Fei is there, oblivious to anything important going on. * Olivia is there, typing away to the glow of her monitor on her laptop visible through her thick glasses. [Xiang-Fei misses the thermonuclear Russian sub with ninja- pirates on board down below then. Boo.] [The lights slowly dim in the cabin. Awareness checks.] 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Aaron (2d6-4) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 1. (Sight for Ryan.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. ( Nope! ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Olivia (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. (I MAKE!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ryan (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. [Ryan, Olivia and Aaron make out the island first. It looks a lot different at night. The base is hard to make out when it's this dark and only Aaron catches a glimpse of it. It takes a while before Xiang-Fei spots the island, and she can just catch the general features before the lights dim entirely.] * Olivia hits a button on her laptop and closes it, fumbling around in the dark until she finds her backpack and stuffs it in. * Aaron clutches his armrests just a bit more tightly when the lights start to dim, but quickly realizes what's going on and notes the location of the base. * Xiang-Fei helps everyone out by pointing enthusiastically and yelling. "THERE! IT THERE!" * Aaron winces. "Yes. Thank you." * Xiang-Fei grins and gives a V-sign. What?! * Ryan applauds. * Olivia hits her head on the side looking around. "Ouch." >_< * Xiang-Fei winces, even though it's not her head that got hit. [The plane comes in for a smooth landing (Aaron notes it's slightly northwest of where he spotted the base earlier near the moutainside.) There's a relatively free clearing in the jungle around, fallen trees all around. There's a faint chirping outside too.] * Ryan waits. It will land eventually! ( It did land :O ) (Yeah. ^^;) * Xiang-Fei stretches. * Aaron hops out of the plane and does a quick scan of his surroundings. * Olivia gets up and stretches, hitting her head again. "Why does it have to be so dark? I can't see anything." >_< * Xiang-Fei is wearing tactical combat gear, specifically designed for this stealth mission. And by "tactical combat gear", I mean pretty close to her usual standard of Chinese clothing. It is black, though! * Xiang-Fei can't even pronounce "Stealth" properly anyhow, so whatev'. * Olivia is wearing all black, like she was about to rob a bank in some B-rated comedy flick. ( Does she have a handkerchief over her mouth? :O ) * Aaron is not wearing all black! But he is wearing dark blue. (Oh yeah. Just in case Zeg doesn't know, Olivia got the general headset gear too. Quiet communication. Well, quieter.) So they can't see us. ( The one Xiang-Fei keeps forgetting? XD ) (Yay!) (Yes, apparently the one Xiang-Fei keeps forgetting. ;P) * Ryan is wearing what he usually does. He's a random mechanic. Nothing to fear here! * Xiang-Fei scratches her forehead. "Now what we do?" We go in. Here. ( Greasy overalls? ) * Ryan hands Xiang the extra headset he procured. * Xiang-Fei takes it, blinking curiously. * Aaron puts on his own headset. [TJ steps out of the plane and starts work on covering it.] * Ryan gets out of the plane, putting his own headset on. Okay. What I saw from the plane makes it look like the base is to the southeast of here. * Xiang-Fei puts her headset on, and pokes it. "Hello?" * Olivia nodnods. * Xiang-Fei taps Aaron on the shoulder. "Can you hear me?" [Xiang-Fei can be heard loud and clear.] * Olivia puts her headset on. "Roger wilco copy delta 4, over and out, over." * Aaron turns around and nods. "You're fine." * Xiang-Fei nods. "I fine, yes. But you hear me ok?" Yes. * Xiang-Fei beams. "Ok!" Now.... Who Roger Wilco? And what he copy? Should use copy machine at base." Definetly. * Xiang-Fei nods. But I think it's out of toner. Oh. ( You don't know Space Quest!?) * Aaron ...just lets Olivia try to explain this. * Xiang-Fei waves her arms. "That no good! He need to copy over and out four times!" * Ryan presses a finger against his forehead. "We have a base to infiltrate," he says by way of reminder. We'll tell him when we get back. Oh. Ok. * Aaron starts heading in the direction of the base. * Xiang-Fei nods. "Ryan right, more important to infuriate base." * Olivia nods. * Xiang-Fei says that confidently, but the truth is she doesn't know if it's really more important than copying whatever a delta is. Four times! We're stopping those evil scientists, Xiang. From last time, where Senada-san was strapped into the bed thing. * Ryan looks to Olivia. "Where to?" * Xiang-Fei nods. "You tell me what for hit, I do hitting. Ok?" ... Sure. (omg) [As Aaron approaches the base, he's the first to note a sliding door on the side near the mountain. A guard in a Fidelis uniform is standing alert in front of it. And he notices well before you actually approach it.] * Aaron stops and holds up an arm. * Ryan stops and blinks. * Xiang-Fei bumps into Aaron when he abruptly stops. [Once Aaron stops you, you have time to make them out too.] * Aaron stumbles slightly but manages to keep his balance. [The guard's posture slacks for a second and he yawns a bit and rubs his eyes, then catches himself and goes back to being "alert."] * Olivia stops and stops too. * Ryan squints. "Ah," he says quietly, points him out and looks to Xiang. * Ryan whispers, "Knock him out." Pause. "Quietly." * Xiang-Fei nodnods and moves eagerly towards the guard. In a stealthy manner. For her, anyway [Silent Movement roll, Xiang. Give margin.] ( El oh el ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. ( :O By........... (Excellent roll, but just to let you know, they're all opposed rolls, so even if you "failed," you'd probably still be fine.) (That's an interesting margin. ;p) [Xiang-Fei is unusually quiet as she walks up behind the guard. He shows no signs of noticing.] * Xiang-Fei covers his mouth with her hand and thumps him solidly in the gut. [The man starts to struggle for a second as he feels her hand only to slacken and double over. It looks like it hurt. A lot.] * Xiang-Fei gives another V-for-victory. ~Xiang-Fei for the win!~ * Ryan gives a thumbs up and heads over there. * Aaron follows. ~Good job, Xiang.~ * Olivia gives Xiang a thumbs-up. ~Nice work.~ * Aaron looks to see if there's a good spot to hide the unconscious guy. [As you get closer to the door, it seems like there's a keypad next to it with the numbers 1-9 on it.] [Aaron finds a nearby bush.] * Aaron points to the bush. ~Could you put him back there, please?~ [There's also a slot that looks like it would fit a card in it attached to the panel.] * Xiang-Fei nodnods and does that. ~Thanks.~ * Ryan takes a look at the panel, then tries to find a way to crack it open. * Xiang-Fei knows a way! * Ryan tries to find a way to crack it open that doesn't involve violence. * Olivia hmmms. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ryan (2d6-5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 1. * Ryan feels around the pad, then peers. ~It's got an alarm to prevent tampering.~ ~Want me to go check the guard's pockets?~ ~I could probably hack us in." ~Yeah, can you?~ ~ * Aaron heads off to where Xiang-Fei left the guard and starts searching him. * Ryan nods. ~If he doesn't have the card, yeah.~ * Olivia nods. [Aaron finds one keycard with a yellow squareish spiral shape in the corner. It also has the fidelis logo. He also finds a small slip of paper, a set of keys, ID and winterfresh chewing gum.] * Aaron takes everything but the ID and the gum, although he notes what the name on the ID is. If, for some strange reason, the group finds that they really need winterfresh breath, he has his own gum. * Aaron walks back to the group and hands Ryan the keycard. ~Will this work?~ * Ryan takes it. ~One way to find out.~ He slides the card! [Swiping the card does indeed work. The door slides open.] * Aaron looks pleased. [Just inside the door is a thin hallway. It still has that spooky metallic feel to it. Near the doors are an elevator and a stairwell next to that (only leading up to the roof). No one seems to be coming at the moment.] ~Okay, Olivia, what do the plans say?~ (Sorry, Dad was talking to me. x.x) ~Okay, we've got a pharmesutical and biochem lab on this floor, as well as accelerator chamber and pressure lab. Gotta go through the guard station for the last two, though, but I think those would be the best places to start looking first.~ ~Okay!~ ~Sounds good to me.~ * Ryan nods. ~Got it. Lead the way. And, uh... got a handy way to take care of those guards?~ * Xiang-Fei waves her hand. She does! * Olivia shakes her head. ( Mental note, invest in nerve gas. Visit Ayaka.) (Darn right.) * Ryan nods. ~Right. Let's hope there aren't many.~ ~Yes.~ * Olivia leads the way trying to be sneaky and stuff... and probably failing miserably. But it's the effort, right? * Xiang-Fei follows! * Ryan goes. For sure, dude. * Aaron takes a good look behind him, just to make sure there's nothing sneaking up on them, then follows the group. [And you go! Keeping an eye out along the way. Fortunately, the way seems clear up to the archway that leads into the guard room. Peeking around the corner reveals that there's a central terminal that a guard is watching a few monitors from his comfy chair. Off to each side are doors leading to other rooms (also of the sliding variety). There's also a small group of holding cells in the corner. Awareness (hearing) roll.] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6-2) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 1. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Aaron (2d6-4) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 0. [Everyone who made their hearing roll makes out a muffled sound coming from one of the holding cells. The barred window is too small to see all the way in side just yet. It sounds like it's muffled by more than just the door itself (because the door wouldn't block much sound.)] [The guard, for his part, hasn't turned around from his monitors, yet.] * Xiang-Fei creeps up to the guard to knock him out! 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. ( Hoooooo... Miss by 3 ) [Xiang-Fei tries to sneak up to the guard. For the most part, he doesn't notice her, but turns around just as she gets behind him. He seems startled.] * Xiang-Fei dispenses with the creeping up part and gets with the knocking out part. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6-4) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 0. (Fortunately, she's much better at that.) ( ^^v ) [He tries to get out of the way of her strike and sound the alarm but isn't quite quick enough.
