Right now, people are on the first floor, being super stealthy. There were people approaching from the other end, but so far you've managed to avoid them.] ( Meh, I could take 'em. ) [Recently, you rescued Lurika from her earlier kidnapping attempt (sans skates for once) and she explained that Dr. Hessien from Valuz Technologies was here talking to the president of Fidelis about some sort of project. But exactly what, she was fairly vague on. Because she'd probably cause a ruckus on her own, she invited her with you. So she's being sneaky. You all are! (Okay, thanks. ^^) * Aaron keeps a careful eye on his surroundings as they walk through the corridor. Every so often, he glances towards Lurika like one would look at a potentially dangerous wild animal. ( Don't feed it. ) (Good advice.) * Xiang-Fei follows Aaron. She still doesn't know what's going on, but that's never stopped her before! [Lurika is sneaking! In fact, she's so sneaky, she even has to mention it as she's going along on tiptoes! "Sneaky sneaky sneaky sneaky..." Saying you're being sneaky actually makes you less sneaky, you know. But whispering might work. * Xiang-Fei blinks. "Really?" [She looks up, blinks at Aaron, then puts her fingers to her lips, whispering. "Oh. I know. Sneaky sneaky sneaky..." * Aaron is somewhat relieved. Somewhat. [You get to the bottom of the stairs. The passageway twists and turns. Not in a good way. Olivia looks around for a moment, then consults her map and gestures to the right before starting to proceed.] * Aaron nods and takes the lead again. (Oh, it IS just you two. :P) ( We screwed ) (Nah, I'm the brains of this operation and I made it. ;p) [Aaron passes the next room near the door, when he hears what sounds like violent barking coming from the left. Olivia must have heard it too because she stopped and looked over at that direction. Lurika bumps into her. "Oof! Ow!"] Lovely. At least they haven't released the hounds yet. (And that's the direction we need to go?) [Lurika perks up. "Hounds? Doggies?"] (Yes!) Maybe cats instead? No, there are dogs over there somewhere. Very likely guard dogs. [Lurika scratches her nose. "Hound cat?"] ( Mutant guard dogs!) * Xiang-Fei pouts. "Cat is more better." [Lurika jumps up a little. "Oo! Where?"] [Lurika walks forward, intent on finding the dogs.] (You know what? I'm just going to leave and let them get eaten by the dogs. ;p) Stand. Still. ( I can take 'em. ) ( But can you take the final boss solo? :O ) (No. That's why I'm going to leave and get Ryan and TJ. ;p) ( Can they take the final boss? :P ) (Aaron, give me a...whatever you can justify as a persuasion skill. [Lurika stops and pouts, turning around. "Nooooooo fun."] Getting eaten by vicious killer attack dogs would probably be less fun. ^_^ ( High tech security, folkes. ) ["Ooo. Yeah. Well, unless they're cute. I think cute things can eat you. Although I'm not sure I taste too good without cocktail sauce."] Teriyaki maybe more better. (Did the dogs sound like they were coming closer or farther away?) (They sounded like they were in a room.) (Also, would there be any information about the patrols in Olivia's data?) (Oh, room. I misread that as farther down the corridor somehow. -_-;) (Some.) I think we can make it past without disturbing them if we're all completely silent. Completely. [Lurika looks up. "Hmm. Camera."] * Xiang-Fei reflexively smiles! * Aaron moves out of its range and motions for the others to do the same. "Olivia, can you deal with that?" [Fortunately, for Xiang-Fei, she's still far enough away from it. Unfortunately, it's a pretty smile and the camera missed it.] [Olivia salutes and gets to work. A bit after her typing, the red light on the camera goes out and it stops moving. She gives Aaron the thumbs up.] Thanks. ^_^ Okay, now is the time for complete silence and moving very, very quickly. Provided there are no more cameras. There are no more cameras, correct? I try for you (Awww, just for me? I'm touched. ^_^) [Olivia shakes her head. "Not yet. I'll take them out if we come to them.] * Aaron nods. Then he starts moving past the dog room. Very quietly. [As Aaron passes in front of the door, one of the dogs leaps at the door and starts barking wildly at Aaron. You can see it's muzzle just barely stick out the barred windows as he passes and whatever dog it is is fairly huge. [Aaron manages to avoid the worst of it, but that laser still stings. His boots (or shoes, whichever he is wearing) is smoldering and his foot hurts something fierce.] Gah! Frickin' lasers! * Xiang-Fei looks back and eeps! "Is hurt?" ( Okay, ladies? Please *don't* follow my lead. Please.) * Aaron shakes his foot in the air in what is very likely a comical manner to everyone else. "Smoldering, but still standing." Please don't do what I just did. Ok [Lurika nods. "Right! What do we do? I can't blow it up."] Olivia, can you deactivate this? * Xiang-Fei nods. "No can beat up eitherer" [Olivia looks up. "I-I don't think so. It's not part of the same system."] * Xiang-Fei boggles. result of 5. Is there a way to find out what system it's on? [Olivia types into her computer a bit. "It seems that the next guard station is right back the other way. It might be there."] (And we can reach that from here?) (Yes you can.) Okay, let's head there. Watch your step. Ok! * Xiang-Fei goes back! [Everyone heads back to the guardroom! Unfortunately, it's right near the room with the dog. There also seems to be another guard in this room. He seems to be more alert than the other one (though he hasn't quite noticed you yet) and typing frantically on a computer. Ever once and a while he's making comments about a panel.] * Aaron whispers, "Xiang-Fei, take him before he notices." Ok! * Xiang-Fei tries that! [Lurika looks at Aaron. "Take him where? Is he going on a trip?"] ( He so is... ) (Two rolls, Xiang-Fei. One stealth, one body.) ( Stealth first ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Xiang-Fei (2d6) and gets 2, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "Fight! [Xiang-Fei gets right up behind him, and the guy is so distracted, he doesn't even so much as look in her direction. The chop comes as a complete surprise and he slumps against the monitor.] * Xiang-Fei flashes a ^^v back to Aaron et. all. Awesome. Olivia, do your thing. [Olivia goes to the monitor and gets to crackin'! Lurika looks over her shoulder strangely. "What's that?" She points to something at the monitor.] * Aaron goes over to get a better look. Is computering thing. * Xiang-Fei nods knowledgably. * Ryan comes on over the headsets: ~Guys, remember those spiders from last time? They explode now.~ ~Oh, that's lovely. How are things going out there? I nearly got my foot burned off by a laser.~ Oh. No can hit then. ~Plane's fixed. Spider with a cam was watching, but we shot it a few times and it nearly took us out with it.~ [Aaron sees the monitor where Lurika's pointing. It seems to be pointing at a black door. It has a panel on the side, but other than that, there's nothing there.] ~Did it report the data before you shot it?~ ~Not sure, but I doubt it.~ ~Okay. Are you coming to join us, then, or staying to guard the plane?~ ~Ryan! I beat up guard!~ * Ryan sounds vaguely amused. ~Congratulations, Xiang-Fei.~ ~Thank you!~ * Xiang-Fei beams. * T.J.'s voice comes onto the system. ~If that thing sent out a report, they know our plane's here. They could attack it.~ * Aaron looks over at Olivia. "Has any data come into the system recently?" ~We've got some of the security down; working on more of it. We can check and see if they received your data.~ [Olivia checks. "Not here yet, at least. Not that I see."] ~Yeah, do that.~ ~Olivia says nothing yet.~ ~Check in a minute or two; sometimes data takes a while to transfer. If there's still nothing, we can be on our way. I'd be surprised if another spider comes by soon.~ ~All right.~ * Aaron takes another look at Lurika's monitor in the meantime. "Gogo mysterious black door." [The door does not respond to Aaron's commands.] (And when sufficient in-game time has passed, please have Olivia check the data stream again.) I wonder what it is. Aside from a door. [Olivia does! There's nothing.] ~Looks like you're clear.~ ~Okay, I'm heading in. T.J. said he'll stay outside and guard the plane.~ ~I need a good, *safe* route to where you guys are. If you can't provide that, I may as well not go.~ ~He's sure about that?~ ~I can provide!~ (Can I move my line before Ryan's?) (Err, Ryan's second one.) (T.J. doesn't want the plane getting destroyed or something so we can't escape. :P ) (Obviously not the first one. ;p) (That is probably a good plan. Being trapped on an island is not a good idea.)
